Pair of 1970s Romeo Rega table lamps
Pair of 1970s Romeo Rega table lamps
Rare pair of Italian 1970s table lamps attributed to Romeo Rega (1925 – 1984). The lamp features a unique and eye-catching golden brass square base of stacked rectangular brass blocks. Each block is meticulously polished, giving the brass a radiant, golden shine that catches the light beautifully and adds a luxurious touch to the piece. Very much of the Hollywood regency style. A true vintage design gem.
Romeo Rega was an Italian master iron forger and furniture designer based in Rome. Following in his artisan father's footsteps, Rega emerged in the 1970s as part of a group of Italian designers who fused inventiveness and elegance with modernist influences. Collaborating with Willy Rizzo and Gabriella Crespi, Romeo Rega championed Modernist Glam applying traditional ironworking techniques to materials like brass, steel, and lucite.
